Setting a new world record for the number of swimming pools to apartments is 1KL in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
With cities like Kuala Lumpur getting increasing amounts of residential accommodation in the form of high-rise buildings, developers are having to increasingly distinguish their products from the competition with unique facilities you cannot find elsewhere to compensate for the potential oversupply in their property markets.
Designed by SCDA Architects, the scheme features 94 apartments spread over 35 storeys with an enormous 95 infinity pools making it the only building in the world to have more swimming pools than apartments and giving it a distinct selling angle.
The building doesn't stop there in being high specification. Also included as standard are duplex apartments for all residents and fingerprint access to accommodation via lifts equipped with biometric readers. Simply put your finger on the scanner and it will whisk you automatically to your home.
There are also three levels of basements under the building which are specifically marketed at being "sports car friendly" giving an idea of just what sort of market these condominiums are aimed at - young childless professionals who like more than a little bling.
